Well, what can I say?! I still love this series. Even after five books it’s highly suspenseful and gripping. I was very engrossed in this story and I look forward to the next book because I really need to know how they are going to get out of this mess they’ve put themselves in.The story’s gone a long way from where it first started in the tunnels and the characters developed a great deal since then. I also may have developed some feelings toward Skull. Honestly, I love him. Emily would probably smack me in the face and tell me he’s a vile person but I like his evil-ness. Power is attractively hot and so is Skull. Needless to say, I fear for his ending.
(Oh God! I think I’ve read too many books about hot villains that got the girl in the end! Because something has to be wrong with me when I feel more attracted to Skull than to Jai in this book. Right?!)
Obviously, Skull played a very prominent part in this book and we got a clearer picture of the world he lives in and the empire he rules. I’m ex-cited to find out more.

This is the fifth book in this series and they must be read in order. This book was a little heart breaking. Jai finally found and rescued his brother. While doing that he found the girl of his dreams. While trying to help his brother rescue the girl of his dreams he loses his. Skull has taken Emily while they were rescuing Joel’s girl. Now when he wants to go back in for Emily Joel doesn’t seem in a hurry. Poor Emily she has been through so much already and now she is at the mercy of Skull and his men. Jai will do everything in his power to rescue Emily. His just worried about what shape she will be in when he does rescue her. Who will he be able to get to help him and can he really trust them? Jai feels like everything that happens to her in there will be his fault because he couldn’t protect her, trusted the wrong people. He wants to be mad and Huss and Joel however in the end he is mad and himself the most. Will he be able to rescue Emily? Who will he have to align himself to do it? This book was crazy. I don’t really like Joel at this point. Emily was the main reason Jai helped rescue Joel’s girl in the first place and now he doesn’t really seem interested in helping him rescue Emily. It is almost as if now that he has what he wants he doesn’t care about anything or anyone else. Skull is twisted and who knows what he will do to Emily to get his hands on Jai and Joel which is who he really wants. I am excited to read the next book in this series. I am loving Skyla and her series.
So, I started with the box set, which was really good. Only, I thought it was the end. Nope, found book 5 and thought, "OK, this will be the big finale." Much to my surprise, it hasn't ended yet. I'm finding this series of 6, at least that's how many I'm aware of, could have been written in one complete book. I really hate when authors do this. While I am able to get them thru Unlimited, I would refuse to pay for each book, separately. It's shameful the way writers try to trick you into paying more. It's a good series, but not great. Certainly not worth $18.95, if purchased individually! And that doesn't include book 6! You've got to be kidding me!
Add to the above, Madi has written a different book, not in the series, and gives no indication when the series will be complete. So, not sure if I will finish or not. I doubt I will be reading any more from this author. I just can't support someone who drags books out, only to make a little extra. I realize it's their time and effort we pay for, but this is a rip-off Ms. Madi! Shame on you.

Wishing this was the final installment and we'd get some more answered. But a good series and keeps you on the edge
I knew in the pit of my stomach that that's gonna happen. I just knew it. You silly Jai.
Now you'd have to find a way to be free again and save everyone as well. Hard task indeed.
Hope the next one is with a happier ending.
I absolutely love this series. I fell in love with Jai from the start and can't wait to read what happens next. I have no complaints about the story line, editing, etc but I am slightly disappointed that the book was not longer and I have to wait (probably a while bc Skyla works and has a family, this I understand) for round six. All I can say is please hurry Skyla!!!
When's Book 6 coming out? I'm dying here. I can't even purchase your Slammed series because I don't want any different characters from your books in my head until I find out what happened to Jai & Emily. Please, please, please... at least give us an idea on when book 6 will be released. Ty, Lisa p.s. Still dreaming of Jai! That Emily's one lucky girl. Here's to hopeing that she's still lucky! 😯
